The Education Council, Inc. d.b.a. the Workforce Education Support Team is incorporated as a 501(c) 3 under the Georgia Non-Profit Corporation Code.

Mission Statement

To support programs that link education, work, and training to improve quality and global competitiveness within the workforce. Business resources will be utilized to assist public, independent and technical schools in their efforts to enhance the educational and technical training experiences for students, to provide educational tools to entrepreneurs, and to promote an increased cooperation and understanding between the business and educational communities thereby supporting a viable continuous workforce pipeline for Valdosta-Lowndes County and business success.

Council's Goals

•Assisting with developing necessary job skills and work ethics so the Valdosta area workforce can remain competitive in the job market (through existing school programs);
•Assisting and acting as a liaison among the education institutions, government agencies, and business community to promote partnerships among educational institutions and businesses to support workforce development initiatives.

The education and workforce based programs are provided for the Valdosta-Lowndes County community.

Ways to Participate

Gifts may be made to the Education Council in a number of ways including: volunteerism, one-time donations, multi-year pledges, matching corporate gifts, endowments and bequests.
