​VALDOSTA, GA- The Chamber Ambassadors held a Ribbon Cutting ceremony for Ben’s Tire and Auto Repair, recently.
 
Ben’s Tire and Auto Repair is a thriving business in Valdosta. Owner, Ben Neal has been in the auto repair industry since his early twenties, and has served the people of Lowndes County for over 20 years. Other businesses in the area have similar services, but Neal says their “honest, friendly, reliable service” is what sets them apart.
 
At the new location, they will now be a Michelin and BF Goodrich dealer, while still selling all major brands of tires. Ben’s Tire and Auto repair will now have more space for customers and bays for servicing vehicles.
 
Recently becoming a member of the Chamber, Neal says he and his wife look forward to the “possible networking opportunities that lie ahead.”

Comfort Keepers provides in-home care services to seniors in Valdosta, Georgia and the surrounding areas.  Since the Valdosta branch opened in 2009, owners Scott and Lisa Register have established industry leading standards of care.
 
The business works with doctors, hospitals, and other organizations in the area in order to provide top care for their clients. Comfort Keepers says their caregivers “engage clients as they care for them, enhancing their quality of life physically, mentally, emotionally, and socially.”  They soon plan to introduce a system that will allow their patients to video chat with family members that live out of town.

Jim Hinton Oil Company is a petroleum bulk station that has serviced the wholesale fuel needs of the Valdosta area for over 40 years. They now supply oil to retail outlets in addition to some commercial, agricultural, and governmental agencies.
 
Technological innovation is becoming a part of their success. They are able to monitor fuel inventories in many locations which allows them to manage fuel for their customers. In the coming months, they plan to install computers in the company’s trucks to help keep track of delivery timing.

Ambassador Personnel started as a small staffing business in Thomasville, Georgia. Over the years, its community involvement and dedication to personal relationships has helped it develop into a much bigger company. Ambassador Personnel now has eight locations and assists over 28 states in matching employees to employers.

VALDOSTA, GA – The Chamber Ambassadors held a ribbon cutting for Repeat Boutique Thrift Store at its new location, 422 A Northside Drive, recently.
 
Repeat Boutique was started in 1998 in order to help fund Options Now Life Choice Clinic. After moving the original store from West Gordon Street to Norman Drive, an additional location was established. Less than one year after opening the second store, it had grown so quickly, they were “excited to take the opportunity to move into a larger facility,” said Laura Knox, of Repeat Boutique.
 
An outreach of Options Now, both businesses are Christ- centered ministries. All profits from the thrift store fund the clinic and help real women and families in the Valdosta- Lowndes community. They love interacting with the community and sharing the mission of Options Now, all while offering great prices on upscale thrift store inventory.
 
“The Chamber is a great resource for us, and we’re thankful to have the support and backing in our corner,” said Laura. Options Now has been a member of the Chamber for over 10 years, adding Repeat Boutique on as a member in 2015.

​VALDOSTA, GA – The Chamber Ambassadors held a ribbon cutting for Valdosta Christian Academy recently.
 
Valdosta Christian Academy is a fairly new member of the Valdosta community, opening just four years ago. Valdosta Christian Academy is the only private school within 100 miles that is Adventist owned. They operate on a condensed school week, Monday through Thursday, and they offer classes for grades 1 through 8. ” We love to train our children for this life by providing a challenging, fun, and authentic curriculum,” says Shanel Marchany of VCA.
 
Most of VCA’s students are performing at least one grade above their current grade level. The student to teacher ratio is 1:8, so students have the opportunity to receive individualized small group instruction during their learning times.
 
One of the school’s projects is a book drive where books and stories are donated to members of the Valdosta- Lowndes community. “We were able to donate hundreds of cook books, Biblical literature, and faith stories to Lowndes county residents last year,” said Marchany. VCA also said they are looking forward to continuing the book drive this year.

VALDOSTA, GA – The Chamber Ambassadors held a Ribbon Cutting ceremony to “launch cutting edge technology of the Interactive Teller Machines (ITM)” at Guardian Bank recently.

Guardian Bank takes pride in their efforts to always put their customers first. “We are committed to our customers and our communities and strive to provide the best possible service and responsiveness,” said Courtney Nelligan- Arroyo of Guardian Bank.

In addition to functioning not only as a basic ATM, the ITM gives customers an interactive transaction experience after normal business hours. Customers can now bank when it’s more convenient for them, making Guardian the first in the Valdosta- Lowndes County area to use the concept of “extended banking hours.” The new technology is now available at both the Wildwood and Norman Drive locations from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Nelligan-Arroyo said the Chamber “continually supports our bank and refers new customers to us.” Guardian Bank has been a member of the Chamber since 1997.

VALDOSTA, GA – The Chamber Ambassadors recognized C-Tech Water Solutions this week.
 
C- Tech Water Solutions is a water treatment business specializing in bottleless water coolers and iron/sulfur removal for both business and residential properties. They have earned the reputation of “leader in water treatment sales and service” from both local services including plumbers as well as some national restaurants chains.
 
Chris West of C- Tech states that one of the company’s biggest accomplishments was having the opportunity to go to Honduras to install water purification equipment in one of the local schools. They’d like to expand their school work to the local area soon, and work towards designing and manufacturing Ice Machine Filter Systems for each school.

VALDOSTA, GA – The Chamber Ambassadors held a ribbon cutting for Walmart Supercenter on Norman Drive to celebrate their re-grand opening.

Walmart Supercenter has been newly remodeled to capture a sharp, new look to improve each customer’s shopping time and to add emphasis to what they have to offer. Walmart takes pride in being able to help people save money so they can live better.

In addition to their updates, Walmart also launched a new app, Walmart Pay, allowing customers to pay for products with their phones.

“We love the excitement of seeing customers having a pleasant shopping experience,” said Jennifer Calhoun, Store Manager.
