What are your Business's major Accomplishments?    In the past 5 years BHS has opened 12 new programs including a 30 bed Inpatient Facility. In the past two years we have partnered with all of our local counties to create treatment courts. In Lowndes County we are currently providing services for the Drug Court, Mental Health Court, Veterans Court and Parent Accountability Court.
Financially, BHS has increased our overall operating budget by approximately 10 million dollars in the last 5 years.

What is something new, unique or innovative that your business does or plans to do in the coming months? We are continually working on creating a pleasant and recovery friendly environment for both our consumers and staff. We are working on a “Relaxation Room” and a nice screened in porch with tables for our staff to take a short break in their day. Previously, we provided a massage therapist on site once a month to give chair massages. We hope to add that back soon. We are adding a second Yoga class for staff and consumers.
We have added flat screen televisions with popular movies playing in our lobby for consumers as well as “Goody Bags” at intake and water and snacks for those that have to wait a bit for their appointment. We hope to add Wi-Fi to our lobby next. We are also establishing a “Clothes and Hygiene” Closet for consumers.

Why do you love working here? I always say our staff are our best asset. BHS has some of the best staff you will ever encounter. They really have a passion for the work that the do and the consumers we serve. It is fulfilling to come to work every day knowing you have made a difference for individuals in need while working with an incredible team of people.

What has the Valdosta-Lowndes Chamber done for your business? Before becoming a member of the Chamber, BHS did not place much emphasis on networking and marketing efforts. The chamber, with the afterhours meet and greet, began to open up opportunities for us and led to us hiring a marketing position.

How would you describe the Valdosta-Lowndes Chamber's influence on the community?  The Chamber brings businesses together and provides networking opportunities in a relaxed atmosphere. It encourages members to share their knowledge and resources to benefit each other’s businesses.
