Valdosta leaders visit Washington, D.C.
by Chamber News on May 4th, 2015

Meetings with Air Force officials at the Pentagon, a briefing at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and personal meetings with U.S. Senators Isakson and Perdue and U.S. Reps. Scott and Carter were included in a jam-packed 3-day trip to Washington, DC on April 29-May 1.  Eleven area chamber leaders were involved in the annual visit to our nation’s capital.  Here are the top issues discussed:

1) Support for Moody Air Force Base
2) Support funding for the Federal Highway Trust Fund
3) Support for H.R. 879 and H.R. 1624 regarding the Affordable Care Act (“Ax the Tax on Middle Class Americans’ Health Plan Act” and Expansion of the Small Group Market in ACA from 50 to 100 employees).
4) Support for Valdosta Regional Airport
5) Support for Second Harvest Food Bank (H.R. 644).
