Sister 2 Sister Boutique Celebrates Ribbon Cutting
by Chamber News on June 20th, 2014

Sisters 2 Sisters Boutique hosted their ribbon cutting ceremony at their new location on Tuesday, June 17th. The business was previously located at Southland Ministries on Highway 84 before Patty Lee, the owner of the non-profit boutique, thought it was time to move their operation closer to town. The move has proven beneficial to the business. “The ceremony was a blessing,” said Lee. “The community was able to come out and see what it is that we do. It really opened their eyes to the reason for our business.”
The boutique sells new and gently used women’s clothing and accessories and donates all proceeds to charity programs. It is open to all women who love to shop for new and gently used items at a fair price. “Most of our items are under $25,” said Lee. “I travel to markets, looking for beautiful pieces to bring back to the boutique.” The shop’s merchandise includes new and used clothing and shoes as well as brand new jewelry, bags, and a line of candles and creams.
All of the business’s proceeds go to the Sisters 2 Sisters Closet program. “We travel to locations all over the United States and across seas, reaching out to women in need,” said Lee of her program’s outreach. “We’ve been to Texas, Iowa, Alabama, Florida and Venezuela to name a few.” Each time the Sister 2 Sister Closet is called, they select inventory for the women in need based on their sizes. Once they’ve set up their traveling boutique, they treat the group to a brunch, complete with inspirational speakers, and hand out bibles. Afterwards, the women are encouraged to “shop” for new clothes, shoes and accessories. “We have each one pick out three to six full outfits, two pairs of shoes, a purse and two sets of jewelry,” said Lee. “All free of charge.” In addition to the Sisters 2 Sisters Closet program, the boutique also works with Pastor Dale Young to support the food ministry of Southland Ministries.
Sisters 2 Sisters Boutique is located at 434 Northside Drive. They are open from 10:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 10:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
