Chamber Choice Finalists Announced

VALDOSTA, GA – The 5th Annual Chamber Choice Awards will be held Thursday, April 3 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Rainwater Conference Center. This prestigious event will honor the community’s top businesses and professionals. The red carpet affair is presented by Citizens Community Bank and features the announcement of 5 major Chamber awards.
 
The Ambassador of the Year award is given to a Chamber Ambassador who has gone above and beyond in service to the community by attending ribbon cuttings, groundbreaking ceremonies, and renovation celebrations. Ambassadors also participate in the Chamber’s Operation Thank You efforts and Leading Business of the Week visits. The top finalists for this award are Cindy Hotchkiss, Gerrell Aldridge, Jerry Kozuch, Courtney Gooding, Taylor Lewis, and Lindi Soles.
 
The Young Professional of the Year honors a young professional who has made a significant quantifiable impact on his or her business and community. Chamber members submit nominees, who then provide a letter of recommendation from their direct supervisors explaining their contributions to their respective organizations. An independent panel of judges selects the winner. The finalists for this award are Angela Hobby (Wiregrass Georgia Technical College), Bert Ponder (Ashley’s Business Solutions), Betsy Harrell (Citizens Community Bank), Bill Nijem (Langdale Valloton, LLP), Chad Slaughter ( Waller Heating & Air Conditioning), Courtney Copeland (Drury Inn & Suites), Courtney Nelligan (Guardian Bank), Daryn Beasley (Chartwells/V-State Catering), Eric Johnson (Guardian Bank), Gerrell Aldridge (New Hire Solutions), Jake Tompkins (Guardian Bank), Jeremy Chick (Ashley’s Business Solutions), Joey Stith (Guardian Bank), Jud Moritz (Southwest Georgia Bank), Julee Lincoln (Azalea Health), Kimberly Harmon (Harmon’s Awards & Screenprinting), Parrish Clark (Guardian Bank), and Thompson Gooding (Dewar Properties, Inc.).
 
The Small Business of the Year recognizes a business with 100 or fewer employees that shows stability and innovation, and goes above and beyond to provide excellent service to the community. Nominees are submitted by Chamber members and must complete a packet of information including a business biography including a description of products and services, business profile, mission and vision statements, and performance. The winner is determined by an independent panel of judges. The finalists for this award are Ashley’s Business Solutions, Inc., Astro Exterminating Services, Inc., Caribbean Delight, H&S Supply Co., Inc., New Hire Solutions, LLC, Nexxtep Technology Services, Inc., Pathway to Hope Counseling Services, Inc., Sean Strickland-IT Guy, South Georgia Eye Partners, The Flower Gallery, and White Weddings, LLC.
 
The Members’ Choice Award applauds a Chamber member with superior customer service. Nominees are submitted by Chamber members and voted upon by the business community. The nominee with the most votes wins. The finalists for this award are 1st Franklin Financial, Bank of the Ozarks, Choices for Life of Georgia, LLC, Hilton Garden Inn, Langdale Hospice House, Newbern Family Dental Practice, Southwest Georgia Bank, Valdosta-Lowndes County Conference Center & Tourism Authority, Wiregrass Georgia Technical College, and Wilson Eye Center.
 
The BIG Thinker Award is given to a member whose entrepreneurial ideas are innovative and business savvy, and who invests significantly in the community. This winner is selected from Chamber membership by an independent panel of judges.
 
Wild Adventures and the Backstreet Blazers will provide live entertainment while guests enjoy cocktails and heavy hors d’oeuvres amidst an atmosphere of celebration.
 
This event is open to the members and non-members. Cocktail attire and pre-registration are required. Tickets are $40 per ticket, $400 per corporate table of 10.
