Common Community Vision: The Results Are In
by Chamber News on December 23rd, 2013

Valdosta, GA – Corey Hull of the Valdosta-Lowndes Metro Planning Organization presented the data collected from his numerous presentations regarding the Common Community Vision for Valdosta-Lowndes County on Tuesday at the Chamber’s final 2013 Quarterly Board Meeting at the Rainwater Conference Center.
Hull has led discussion at several events in the past few months to collect information needed to determine the direction of Valdosta-Lowndes County in the coming years. Groups discussed the top issues recognized by the more than 20 strategic plans officially in place with area organizations. Many of the plans addressed overlapping topics, indicating that many of the area’s organizations are interested in moving in similar directions. The meetings sought to discover which issues were the most important to our community, and to consolidate the plans into one guiding initiative.
“The comments showed three concepts that are important to residents and businesses in Valdosta and Lowndes County: partnerships and collaboration, leadership development, and marketing and communication of local resources,” said Hull about the results. The information will be used to create a list of common goals to serve the area through 2040.
