Common Community Vision: Chamber Voice
by Chamber News on November 14th, 2013

Valdosta, GA – Corey Hull of the Valdosta-Lowndes Metropolitan Planning Organization conducted an interactive workshop to get feedback from Chamber members about the future of Valdosta and Lowndes County. Members met at the City Hall Annex on November 12 at 3 P.M.
The workshop provided a platform for Chamber members to speak up about what is going well in our community, as well as the things that are in need of attention.
The topics of focus included:
Economic Development
Education (K-12, Higher Education, Public/Private)
Health & Safety (Health, Police, Fire, Emergency Management)
Intergovernmental Coordination
Land Use
Natural Resources
Quality of Life (Recreation, Cultural, Historic)
Utilities/Infrastructure (Water, Sanitary, Storm Sewer, Community Facilities).

The objective was to brainstorm about the areas which need the most focus for the community so that as area organizations plan for the future, all are moving in the same direction.
