Dozens Take Advantage of Business University Workshops
by Chamber News on July 16th, 2012

CEO Baha Zeidan of Azalea Health Innovations, Inc. spoke to a large group of business professionals and students at Wiregrass Georgia Technical College on how to implement and use social media in their businesses.  Zeidan encouraged businesses to develop a social media strategy and dedicate adequate time adding fresh content and responding to both positive and negative posts. Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter are very different and therefore should not contain the same content.  Google+, YouTube, TinyURL and social media schedulers are additional tools you can use for an effective social media campaign in your business.
Later in the week, Certified Public Accountant and partner with Henderson & Godbee, LLP Amber Tanner along with CPA Amanda Shapard discussed entity selection and taxation on the federal, state and local levels.  Business owners were advised to keep business finances separate from personal finances, maintain good accurate records (whether you choose to use paper, a software program or an accounting firm), and remit payment of taxes to the proper agency on time.  Attendees heard that penalties for failure to submit proper tax payments, budget for payroll taxes and benefits, and proper classification of workers are common and expensive mistakes for small business owners.
