City Market gets cash mobbed
by Chamber News on May 24th, 2012

Dozens gathered at the Historic Courthouse downtown on Tuesday eagerly awaiting the selection of Valdosta’s first-ever “cash mob” target. Participants immediately went to City Market to make a purchase when its name was announced. Individual purchases ranged from $10-$300 as patron’s found unique items the stored offered.

City Market owner, Jessica Newman, commented on the event, "We're excited! We've seen new people in here, along with some loyal customers as well. So it's definitely good to get new people in the store so they see the variety of items we offer.”

The event, organized by the Valdosta-Lowndes County Chamber and Valdosta Main Street, was held to create new opportunities for local businesses and to spur spending locally. To learn more about City Market, visit their location on 101 North Patterson St. or call at 229-219-0007
