by Chamber News on April 9th, 2012

MetroOne unveiled a list of 100 fun activities available to the Valdosta area on Monday, the 100th day of the year. Cultural, active and interesting activities comprise the list created to raise awareness of the attractive assets in Valdosta and Lowndes County.

“Metro Valdosta has so much to offer—an economy that is diversifying and a community with many assets, including a premier location. So whether you're looking at Metro Valdosta from a business or personal perspective, it is a city on the rise,” commented Morgan Plyler, Chair of MetroOne’s YP Advocacy Committee.
City of Valdosta Mayor John Gayle and Lowndes County Commissioner Joyce Evans delivered a joint proclamation declaring April 9 “Explore Metro Valdosta Day.” Mayor Gayle encouraged all citizens to explore the community. ”Participating in these opportunities and supporting local businesses that provide these services will help stimulate the local economy and open the doors for future advancements,” stated Gayle.

The first event on the list—Annette Howell Turner Center for the Arts’ Spring Into Art, which is held April 9-June 6. This year’s gallery hosts nearly 450 pieces of original art, all for sale, by 233 artists.

The complete list is available online at www.MetroOneValdosta.com.
