Azalea Health Innovations, Inc. up for national award

Azalea Health Innovations, Inc. (AHI) headquartered in beautiful Downtown Valdosta, Georgia is one of 75 companies across the country and one of three companies representing the state of Georgia to be named Blue Ribbon Small Business Award® winners today by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. The Valdosta-Lowndes Chamber was very proud to nominate AHI for the 2012 DREAM BIG Small Business Award sponsored by Sam’s Club. “Every community dreams of growing a great small business that is destined to become a world class large business,“ said Myrna Ballard, President of the Chamber. “Azalea Health Innovations has all the necessary ingredients to become a leader in their field.”

Winning the Blue Ribbon Small Business Award® was the first of three rounds of competition. Seven regional finalists will be announced after voting ends on March 15. The seven finalists will be eligible for the $10,000 grand prize and DREAM BIG Small Business Award. “We are honored to be recognized on a national level by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce as a 2012 Blue Ribbon Award winner. Azalea Health Innovations would not have won this award without the encouragement that the Valdosta and Lowndes County community has given us. AHI won the 2008 Guardian Bank Business Plan Competition, and the three partners have been named Graduates of the Last Decade by Valdosta State University. AHI’s owners are very active in the Lowndes County community. CEO, Baha Zeidan is serving in his second year as a member of our Chamber Board of Directors and has received membership in the community’s oldest Rotary Club. CFO, Douglas Swords currently serves as a Board Member of the Greater Valdosta United Way and participates in the Chamber’s network of young professionals. CIO, Dan Henry is active in the Chamber’s IT Professionals Network. The company’s CEO and CIO also serve on the Advisory Board for Wiregrass Georgia Technical College’s Healthcare IT program.
